This year the AATE (Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe) conference takes place in Bologna (Italy) from the 27-30 of August under the motto „Global Challenges in Assistive Technology: Research, Policy & Practice“. The Easy Reading Project actively takes part in the conference and hosts a workshop and a Special Topic Session. In the workshop “User Participation in Software Development”  various research projects, currently funded by the EU, on approaches and procedures for user participation of people with different impairments will be presented and discussed. Here are some of the projects that will be a part of the workshop:

• Insension Project – Involvement of Users with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities in the Development of an ICT platform for non-symbolic communication
• Arches Project – Validation of Technological Outcomes based on a Participative Research Methodology
• Gables Project – Participative Creation of an Online Video Games Service for Youth with Cerebral Palsy
• EASIT – Easy Access for Social Inclusion Training

In the Special Thematic Session “Cognitive Accessility of Digital Recoureces” the motivation, the project objectives and the current project results of the Easy Reading will be presented and discussed.
